Rittner Buam win against Cortina
The Rittner Buam won the second game against the season-ending series and evened the “best-of-five” quarterfinal series. Just like on Saturday, the defense was the key to success three days later. This time, however, Ritten managed to win in regulation time. Jacob Smit celebrated his second shutout in a row, taking the Buam into a decisive fifth game. Fourth road win in Austrian duel
EK Die Zeller Eisbären were unable to convert their first match puck to reach the semifinals. EHC Lustenau celebrated their second away win as guests in Zell and tied the score 2-2 in the “best-of-five” series. So far, the visiting team has prevailed in all four games of this series. Like the last two games, the fourth quarterfinal ended 3:4 – but this time in regulation time. After an even first 30 minutes, Lustenau ignited the turbo and pulled away to a 4:1 lead by the 43rd minute. But the Polar Bears still fought back and within two minutes reduced the score to 3:4, but Lustenau did not allow another goal and thus forced the decisive fifth game.
