Come iscriversi agli IIHF eWorlds? Per coloro che non ne hanno avuto abbastanza dell’azione delle squadre nazionali ai Campionati del Mondo di Hockey su Ghiaccio 2022, l’hockey su ghiaccio internazionale continua – virtualmente – con gli IIHF eWorld Championship 2022. Dopo che la Finlandia, padrona di casa, è stata incoronata campione del mondo sul ghiaccio di casa, i giocatori di 22 Paesi si sfideranno per diventare il primo campione ufficiale IIHF eWorld.
Prima dell’inizio della fase a gironi, in programma ad inizio di luglio, ogni nazione partecipante dovrà creare la propria squadra nazionale composta da due giocatori, uno per PlayStation e uno per Xbox. Le qualificazioni inizieranno il 16 giugno con Norvegia e Svizzera e si concluderanno con la Finlandia il 29 giugno. Tutte le date delle qualificazioni di ciascuna nazione sono disponibili qui.

Per partecipare all’IIHF eWorld Championship 2022, i giocatori devono creare un account IIHF Gaming e poi iscriversi al rispettivo torneo di qualificazione del proprio Paese. Per competere, un giocatore deve possedere la nazionalità di uno dei Paesi partecipanti, avere almeno 16 anni e possedere una versione “Xbox One” o “PlayStation 4” di NHL™ 22. Se la versione è corretta, il torneo può essere giocato anche su NHL™ 22. Se la versione è corretta, il torneo può essere giocato anche su PlayStation 5 o Xbox Series X|S.

Il torneo
Una volta confermati i campioni nazionali, il 2 e 3 luglio si disputerà una prima fase a gironi. I 22 Paesi si sfideranno in due gruppi da cinque e due gruppi da sei; le prime due squadre di ciascun gruppo accederanno ai playoff.
I playoff inizieranno una settimana dopo con i quarti di finale, seguiti dalle semifinali in cui si scopriranno le due finaliste del Campionato mondiale di calcio del 2022. A partire dalla fase a gironi fino alla grande finale, tutte le partite saranno trasmesse in diretta streaming sul canale Twitch dell’IIHF Gaming per tutti gli appassionati di hockey e NHL™ 22 del mondo. For those who did not get enough of national team action at the 2022 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship, international ice hockey continues – virtually – with the 2022 IIHF eWorld Championship. After host Finland has been crowned world champion on home ice, players from 22 countries will compete to become the first official IIHF eWorld Champion. Before the group stage starts in early July, each participating nation must find its national team consisting of two players, one for PlayStation and one for Xbox. In order to take part in the 2022 IIHF eWorld Championship, players must create an IIHF Gaming account and then sign up for the respective qualification tournament of their country. To compete, a player needs to hold the nationality of one of the participating countries, be at least 16 years old and own an “Xbox One” or “PlayStation 4” version of NHL™ 22. If the version is correct, the tournament can also be played on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S.

From 22 down to 8
Once the national champions will be confirmed, an initial group stage will be played on 2 and 3 July. The 22 countries compete in two groups of five and two groups of six, the top-two squads of each group advancing to the playoffs.
The playoffs start one week later with the quarter-finals, followed by the semi-finals where the two finalists of the 2022 IIHF eWorld Championship will be found. Starting from the group stage up to the grand final, all games will be streamed live on the IIHF Gaming Twitch channel for all the hockey and NHL™ 22 fans around the globe to follow.
The winning nation as well as both winning players will receive an official 2022 IIHF eWorlds trophy. All National Champions qualifying for the group stage will get an exclusive IIHF eWorlds puck, as well as an official certificate.
All the players qualifying for the playoffs will play for their share of EUR 10,000!
