Press Release: Hockey Italia 21
Hockey Italia 21 presents its new editorial project, the “Milano Hockey Club Media Impact Report 2026”
Milan’s return to ice hockey is not merely a new chapter in sporting history. It is also a media phenomenon. Since the first reports emerged about the Milano Hockey Club’s new project in early 2026, interest in the team and the city has grown rapidly. The return of a major name in Italian hockey has generated interest that has extended far beyond mere sporting results.
But how much has the new Milano actually been talked about? What has been the project’s actual media exposure? Which moments generated the most attention? And above all: how much coverage has the Milano Hockey Club secured in the Italian and international sports news landscape?
To answer these questions, Hockey Italia 21 has devised a new editorial project: the Milano Hockey Club Media Impact Report 2026.

An analysis to measure the impact of the new Milan
The aim is to analyse the Milano Hockey Club’s presence in the media and on social media during the period from January to July 2026, i.e. from when the first reports of the new project began to circulate.
To carry out this analysis, Hockey Italia 21 has already identified a company specialising in media monitoring and the analysis of media presence and reputation as the ideal technical partner for producing the report.
The project will enable the transformation into concrete data of what, day after day, has been perceived by fans and industry professionals: the impact of Milan’s return to the Italian ice hockey scene.
Not only the number of publications, but also their distribution, the types of media involved, the most frequently covered topics and the evolution of interest over the months.
From data to an editorial project
The Media Impact Report will not simply be a technical document. The results of the analysis will be transformed into a fully-fledged editorial project to be published in Hockey Italia 21 through a series of dedicated articles. One chapter at a time, the report will recount the first few months of the new Milano Hockey Club through the figures relating to its media exposure.
From the project’s inception to its moments of greatest attention, covering the role of social media and Milano’s presence in the international media. A journey through the data to tell a story that, until now, has been told primarily through emotion.
A project in need of a partner
Carrying out an analysis of this calibre, through a company specialising in media monitoring, requires a significant investment. For this reason, Hockey Italia 21 is seeking one or more sponsors willing to provide financial support for the production of the Milano Hockey Club Media Impact Report 2026.
The aim is to find one or more partners who believe in the value of the project and wish to associate their name with a publishing initiative that is unique within the Italian hockey landscape.
Sponsors will have the opportunity to become official partners of the project, associating their brand with an analysis set to unfold through a series of articles published on the Hockey Italia 21 website and social media channels.
The report will not, in fact, be published in a single instalment, but will instead take the form of a comprehensive editorial series: various chapters, in-depth analyses and several weeks of content dedicated to the media impact of the new Milano Hockey Club.
This project will enable partners to be featured within an initiative built around three key elements: data, communication and sport.
How significant is Milan’s return?
Milan’s return represents one of the most important events in Italian ice hockey in recent years. A city with an extraordinary history behind it, a new club, an ambitious project and a team built to bring the Lombard capital back to the forefront of the national and international scene.
The 2026 Media Impact Report aims to measure all of this. Because today, in a sporting world increasingly linked to communication, simply being present is not enough. It is important to understand how much attention you attract, where you are seen and what kind of interest you manage to generate.
A project set to grow
The report will analyse an initial time frame, covering the period from January to July 2026. However, the ambition is to turn this project into an annual event that will grow over time.
The first report could serve as the starting point for a series chronicling the evolution of the Milano Hockey Club brand through communication metrics.
It will provide a way to understand how perceptions of the project are changing, how interest is growing, and what path the new Milano will take within the Italian hockey landscape.
The Milano Hockey Club Media Impact Report 2026 will therefore be a publishing project, but also an analysis of the present and a tool for looking to the future.
Because Milan’s return to the ice has only just begun. And Hockey Italia 21 wants to try to document – and measure – everything that is happening.
To bring this project to fruition, Hockey Italia 21 is seeking partners and sponsors interested in providing financial support for the initiative and in joining an innovative editorial project dedicated to Milan’s return to top-flight hockey.
