Italy and Portugal, third place ex aequo
The third and fourth place match of the Senior Men European Championship 2021 in Paredes (Portugal) between Portugal and Italy was not held. In due course, the World Skate Europe Rink Hockey Technical Commission informed that the third and fourth place match had been cancelled due to public health reasons, namely due to the pandemic situation of COVID 19.
In view of the vagueness in the final standings of the Senior Men’s European Championship 2021, at meeting on January 25, 2022, World Skate Europe Rink Hockey Technical Commission determined to award the third place ex aequo to the two national teams, so 3rd place medals will be sent to each Federation.

Assegnato ex equo il terzo posto ad Italia e Portogallo
Il 20 novembre 2021 era l’ultimo giorno dei Campionati Europei Maschili di Hockey su Pista a Paredes, nel nord del Portogallo. L’Italia si era classificata quarta nel girone di qualificazione e doveva giocarsi la Finale per il 3°-4° posto contro il Portogallo, in una partita che sarebbe stata molto vibrante. Invece a pochissimi minuti prima dell’inizio della finalina World Skate Europe Rink Hockey ha deciso il rinvio per ragioni di salute pubblica.
La decisione di oggi da parte dello stesso comitato tecnico europeo di assegnare a Italia e Portogallo la medaglia di bronzo ex aequo. E’ il 23esimo bronzo per l’Italia nei Campionati Europei che si vanno a sommare ai tre ori ed ai dodici argenti conquistati, per un totale di 38 podi in 54 edizioni.
