Italia sconfitta dagli USA: domani caccia al bronzo ai World Games
L’Italia esce sconfitta per 5 a 0 dagli USA in semifinale ai World Games, domani è caccia al bronzo per gli azzurri. Gli USA si portano avanti e poco dopo trovano il raddoppio. Passa un minuto ed arriva la terza rete americana. L’Italia prova aa reagire ma non trova la rete, cosa che invece trovano gli USA. Per gli azzurri domani la finale per il terzo e quarto posto alle 14 e 15. Da definire ancora la sfidante.
Dopo una fase iniziale di studio è l’Italia ad andare pericolosamente alla conclusione con il 26, ma il goalie americano respinge il tiro. Gli americani però rispondono poco dopo, ma anche Frigo è ben attento. Al 5 e 50 gli USA si portano in vantaggio con Ross. Passano pochi secondi e Noe trova il raddoppio americano. Un minuto dopo è Hawkins a trovare la rete del 3 a 0 americano. L’Italia non riesce a sfruttare un power play. A 5 e 24 dalla sirena Frigo salva sul 97. Sulla ripartenza l’Italia va vicino alla rete con Ederle, su assist di Calore. Al 3 e 33 penalità per l’Italia, con Vendrame che finisce in panca. Passano pochi secondi e gli USA commettono fallo: squadre in 3 vs 3. A 2 e 24 Sigmund trova la rete del 4 a 0 per gli USA. L’Italia prova a reagire ma non trova la rete. Finisce il primo periodo.
Tornati in pista è l’Italia ad essere subito pericolosa, ma la conclusione di Dal Sasso viene bloccata. Gli USA mantengono il possesso del puck e concedono poco agli azzurri. Al settimo della ripresa ci prova Bellini, ma non trova la rete. All’ottavo rigore per gli USA con Sigmund che però non supera Frigo 49. Poco dopo gli USA vanno doppiamene vicini alla rete, ma non la trovano. A 10 dalla fine l’Italia può contare su di un power play ma non riesce a sfruttarlo. A 5 e 39 arriva invece la quinta rete americana con Hawkins. L’Italia prova a reagire e per poco non trova la rete. Gli Usa però concedono poco. Finisce 5 a 0.
