European U17 Championships in Spain: first day results
The first day of the U17 European Championships in Spain came to an end. Below are the results with the four victories of the favourites. Italy, France, Portugal and Spain scored the first three points. Andorra was the only one of the four defeated teams that managed to score a goal, while the teams that scored the most were Italy and Spain.
Italy scored 12 goals against Andorra (four goals for Tagliapietra and Tomba). France won 8 goals to 0 against England, where the top scorer was Gelebart with three goals. Portugal, on the other hand, won 7-0 against Germany, with six players on the scoresheet and Machado’s double. Spain put seven players on the scoresheet, beating Switzerland 12-0, where the top scorers were Casas and Escala, both with three goals.
In this edition, goal difference has been abolished, so the points in the standings will count, and in the event of a tie, the first discretion will be given by the direct free throw rounds taken in each match.
Tomorrow second of the three days of the two qualifying rounds, Germany-Italy at 3 pm, Switzerland-France at 5 pm, Portugal-Andorra at 7 pm and Spain-England at 9 pm.
