A 2 secondi dalla fine della penalità veneta i Bad Boars segnano il pari con Matteo Lilli che trova così il 2 a 2 con cui si chiude il primo tempo.
Nella ripresa le squadre si affrontano a viso aperto, ma il risultato non si sblocca. Al terzo Daniel Broch finisce in panca puniti, ma Viareggio non riesce ad approfittare della superiorità numerica. Con le squadre tornate in parità sono i Raiders a farsi pericolosamente avanti ed a chiamare in causa Bacinelli. La partita sale di ritmo ed entrambe le squadre cercano la rete, ma i due goalie rispondono sempre presenti. Al 10:11 Alex Quirini commette fallo e per i Bad Boars c’è la possibilità di sfruttare l’ennesimo power play. Passano 50 secondi ed Alessio Podda sgambetta Giopp in attacco. Penalità per Viareggio, con i Raiders che avranno poi 70 secondi di superiorità. In 3 vs 3 però le squadre non rischiano troppo. Negli ultimi minuti le squadre si allungano e vanno entrambe vicine alla rete, ma ancora una volta i due goalie dicono di no. A 48 secondi dalla fine Broch sgambetta Podda, lanciato verso la porta. I Bad Boars sfiorano la rete con Lilli che a porta vuota colpisce il palo. Si va all’overtime, con entrambe le squadre che vanno vicine alla rete. Al 5:34 Federico Cecchini segna il goal che regala la vittoria al Viareggio.

At the end of an exciting game, the Bad Boars Viareggio won the Italian Cup of Serie B 2022/23 by beating the Montebelluna Raiders 3 to 2 in overtime. The Tuscans, after taking the lead, conceded two goals from the Venetians. Late in the first period Viareggio equalized. In the second half the two teams fight for the win, but neither can score. It goes to overtime, where Federico Cecchini signs the winning goal.
After an initial moment of study, it is Federico Sanna who puts the Bad Boars ahead at 2:04. The Raiders try to answer right away and force Viareggio to foul, with Federico Cecchini ending up on the penalty bench at 4:36. Montebelluna looked for an equalizer, but the Bad Boars defended well and came out of the inferiority unscathed. At 8:06, the Venetians found the equalizer with Andrea Flora scoring 1:1. At 12:00, the Raiders found the go-ahead goal with Patrick Mazzarol. With 3:53 to go before the siren Alex Quirini goes to the penalty box and it is a good opportunity for Viareggio to tie. With 2 seconds left of the Venetian penalty the Bad Boars score the equalizer with Matteo Lilli who thus finds the 2:2 with which the first half ends.

With the teams back on even terms it is the Raiders who come forward dangerously and call Bacinelli into action. The game picks up the pace and both teams look for the net, but the two goalies always respond. The Bad Boars come close to scoring with Lilli hitting the post with an empty goal. It goes to overtime, with both teams going close to the net. At 5:34 Federico Cecchini scores the goal that gives Viareggio the win.
