I Wardogs conquistano l’Everest Hockey League 2022/23
Alla Wurth Arena di Egna sabato sera i Wardogs hanno superato 1 a 0 i Parzer ed hanno conquistato la sesta edizione dell’Everest Hockey League 2022/23. Nella partita valida per il terzo e quarto posto i Panthers hanno battuto 4 a 0 i Warriors. Per i Wardogs è il primo titolo in Everest Hockey League 2022/23, una Lega di hockey amatoriale dell’Alto Adige nata nel 2017.
14 le squadre che vi hanno partecipato, suddivise in due gironi, con il campionato che è iniziato ad ottobre. Nel gruppo A erano inseriti HC Golden Bananas, HC Goonies, HC Jack Daniel, HC Old Spartans, HC Parzer, HC Schlappis Neumarkt e HC Wardogs. Nel gruppo B invece c’erano HC Cannibals Naturns, HC Gargazon, HC Grizzlies Unterland, HC Highlanders, HC Panthers, HC Sturmböen Eppan, HC Warriors Kaltern.
Il torneo si è svolto in tre fasi. La Regular Season, disputata con partite di andata e ritorno, ha visto trionfare rispettivamente Warriors e Wardogs. Le due vincitrici si sono qualificate direttamente ai playoff, mentre le altre 12 squadre si sono sfidate nel Picking Round, con partite di andata e ritorno. Warriors e Wardogs si sono scontrate tra di loro per determinare il primo posto nella griglia dei playoff: i verdeblu hanno vinto entrambe le sfide, 5-1 e 2-1. Ai playoff infine si sono qualificate Goonies, Panthers, Gargazon, Highlander, Grizzly e Parzer. Mentre le altre squadre si sono affrontate nei playout.
Nei Quarti di finale i Wardogs hanno superato in due gare i Gargazon mentre i Panthers hanno battuto l’HC Highlanders in entrambe le sfide. Nell’altra parte del tabellone i Warriors hanno eliminato i Grizzlies, mentre i Parzer hanno vinto la decisiva gara 3 contro i Goonies. In semifinale i Wardogs hanno avuto la meglio sui Panthers vincendo gara 3, mentre i Parzer hanno battuto i Warriors in entrambe le sfide. A vincere il campionato sono stati i Wardogs che hanno battuto 1 a 0 i Parzer, mentre i Panthers hanno vinto 4 a 0 contro i Warriors.
Wardogs conquer the Everest Hockey League 2022/23
At the Wurth Arena in Egna on Saturday night the Wardogs defeated the Parzers 1:0 and won the sixth Everest Hockey League 2022/23. In the match for third and fourth place, the Panthers beat the Warriors 4-0. For the Wardogs, it is the first title in the Everest Hockey League 2022/23, a South Tyrolean amateur hockey league established in 2017.
Fourteen teams participated, divided into two groups, with the league starting in October. Group A included HC Golden Bananas, HC Goonies, HC Jack Daniel, HC Old Spartans, HC Parzer, HC Schlappis Neumarkt and HC Wardogs. In group B were HC Cannibals Naturns, HC Gargazon, HC Grizzlies Unterland, HC Highlanders, HC Panthers, HC Sturmböen Eppan, and HC Warriors Kaltern.
The tournament took place in three phases. The Regular Season, played in round games, saw the Warriors and Wardogs triumph respectively. The two winners qualified directly for the playoffs, while the other 12 teams competed in the Picking Round, with back-to-back games. Warriors and Wardogs clashed with each other to determine the first place in the playoff grid: the green-blues won both challenges, 5-1 and 2-1. Goonies, Panthers, Gargazon, Highlander, Grizzly and Parzer qualified for the playoffs. While the other teams faced each other in the playout.
In the quarter-finals, the Wardogs overcame the Gargazon in two matches while the Panthers beat HC Highlanders in both challenges. At the other end of the table, the Warriors eliminated the Grizzlies, while the Parzers won the decisive game 3 against the Goonies. In the semifinals, the Wardogs got the better of the Panthers by winning game 3, while the Parzers beat the Warriors in both challenges. Winning the championship was the Wardogs who beat the Parzers 1-0, while the Panthers won 4-0 against the Warriors.
