L’Italia vince 7 a 2 contro la Lettonia nella seconda partita dei The World Games 2022, in programma a Birmingham dal 7 al 17 luglio. Domani, alle 15 locali, la sfida contro la Repubblica Ceca. Per gli azzurri, dopo la sconfitta subita ieri per 4 a 1 dalla Svizzera, arriva il primo successo.
Dopo i primi minuti di studio, l’Italia si porta in vantaggio con Elia Calore al 3 e 55. Passano due minuti e gli azzurri trovano il raddoppio con Davide Dal Sasso. Al 12 e 15 l’Italia può provare a sfruttare un power play, con Aigars Berzins che finisce in panca puniti. Passano 18 secondi ed Andrea Bellini, su assist di Del Sasso, firma la rete del 3 a 0. A 3 e 24 dalla prima sirena Frigo e Begovs finiscono entrambi in panca puniti. A 24 secondi dalla sirena anche Mattia Pietrobon finisce in panca puniti.
Gli azzurri superano indenni la penalità di inizio secondo tempo. Al 3 e 10 della ripresa Kristaps Bazevics è spedito in panca, e l’Italia può contare su di un altro power play. Passano 19 secondi e Davide Del Sasso cala il poker: 4 a 0 per gli azzurri. Passa un minuto ed è Alessandro Rossetto a firmare la quinta rete per l’Italia. Al 4 e 53 penalità inferta a Pietro Ederle e ad Aleksandrs Galkins: al lettone vengono dati 10 minuti di penalità per Misconduct. Passano pochi secondi e Tobia Vendrame firma la rete del 6 a 0 azzurro.
Dopo il goal le squadre cambiano i portieri: fuori Tomass e Frigo, dentro Kruklitis e Daniele Facchinetti, che fa così il suo esordio ai The World Games 2022. Passano 2 minuti ed Andrea Bellini commette fallo, costringendo così i suoi a giocare con l’uomo in meno. In short handed l’Italia realizza la rete del 7 a 0 con Tobia Vendrame, quando sono da poco passati i tre quarti di gara. A 9 e 30 dalla sirena Elia Calore commette fallo e la Lettonia, passato meno di un minuto, sfrutta bene il power play e trova la rete del 7 a 1 con Begovs.
A 4 e 30 è ancora Begovs a segnare, per il 7 a 2. A 2 e 45 dalla sirena Alessandro Rossetto finisce in panca, ed i lettoni possono provare a sfruttare il power play. Gli azzurri si difendono bene. Finisce 7 a 2 per l’Italia.

Italy wins 7-2 against Latvia in the second match of The World Games 2022, scheduled to take place in Birmingham from 7 to 17 July. Tomorrow, at 3pm local time, the challenge against the Czech Republic. For the Azzurri, after yesterday’s 4-1 defeat by Switzerland, comes their first success.

The Azzurri overcame the penalty unharmed at the beginning of the second half. At 3:10 of the second half Kristaps Bazevics was sent to the bench, and Italy could count on another power play. Nineteen seconds passed and Davide Del Sasso dropped the poker: 4-0 for the Azzurri. A minute passed and it was Alessandro Rossetto who signed the fifth goal for Italy.
