Agli Europei di Valladolid l’Italia U18 conquista il bronzo
Ai Campionati Europei di Valladolid l’Italia U18 conquista la medaglia di bronzo battendo 3 a 2 la Finlandia nella finalina per il 3° e 4° posto. L’U16, anch’essa in finale per il bronzo, viene battuta 4 a 3 dalla Slovacchia.
La Finlandia si porta in vantaggio con Torkki a metà della prima frazione. Passano meno di due minuti e gli azzurri la ribaltano: prima Alessandro Rossetto e poi Cristiano Faggian portano l’Italia avanti 2 a 1. A 6 e 46 dalla prima sirena gli azzurri, in powerplay, trovano la terza rete con Marco Magnabosco. Nel secondo tempo l’Italia è costretta a giocare con l’uomo in meno per alcuni minuti, ma gli azzurri resistono agli assalti dei finlandesi.
A 4 e 10 dalla fine del secondo tempo, la Finlandia concretizza il powerplay trovando la rete con Nuutinen, dopo solo 11 secondi di superiorità numerica. Negli ultimi minuti i finnici cercano il pareggio, ma gli azzurri resistono e conquistano la medaglia di bronzo.
Italy U18 wins bronze at European Championships in Valladolid
At the European Championships in Valladolid, Italy U18 won the bronze medal by beating Finland 3:2 in the final for 3rd and 4th place. The U16 team, also in the final for bronze, was beaten 4-3 by Slovakia.
Finland took the lead through Torkki midway through the first period. Less than two minutes passed and the Azzurri turned it around: first Alessandro Rossetto and then Cristiano Faggian put Italy ahead 2:1. At 6:46 from the first siren the Azzurri, in powerplay, found the third goal with Marco Magnabosco. In the second half, Italy was forced to play with a man less for a few minutes, but the Italians resisted the Finnish assaults.
At 4:10 from the end of the second half, Finland realised the powerplay finding the goal with Nuutinen, after only 11 seconds of numeric superiority. In the last minutes the Finns tried to equalize, but the Italians resisted and won the bronze medal.
