Al Palasesto si scriverà una pagina di storia dell’hockey
Sabato sera, dalle 18, al Palasesto di Sesto San Giovanni si scriverà una pagina importante di storia dell’hockey italiano. Per la prima volta nella storia hockeistica italiana un giocatore di Para Ice Hockey, il portiere Gabriele Araudo, atleta della Nazionale Italiana di Para Ice Hockey, giocherà una partita amatoriale di hockey insieme ad atleti normodotati.
Il 44enne, originario di Nichelino, affronterà insieme alla sua squadra dei Torino Bulls i padroni di casa dei Diavoli Rossoneri. La partita è valida per la seconda giornata del campionato amatoriale Libertas Serie B, una giovane lega al suo terzo anno di attività. Per i Torino Bulls si tratta dell’esordio stagionale in campionato, mentre i Diavoli hanno vinto la prima gara contro i Proxai Torino.
Una prima volta storica per l’hockey che così abbatte tutte le barriere: non era mai successo infatti che un giocatore di Para Ice Hockey, o Sledge Hockey, che gioca su di uno slittino, potesse disputare un incontro di hockey “standing”. Una sfida che si prospetta emozionante per l’esperto portiere Araudo, che vanta quattro partecipazioni alle Paralimpiadi con la maglia dei Dahuazzurri, così chiamata la nazionale italiana.
Invece nel campionato di Para Ice Hockey, che vede affrontarsi i Tori Seduti di Torino, l’Armata Brancaleone di Varese e i South Tyrol Eagles, è ammessa la partecipazione di atleti normodotati. Chi volesse provare a giocare può contattare le società tramite i loro canali ufficiali.
A page of hockey history will be written at Palasesto
On Saturday evening, from 6 p.m., an important page of Italian hockey history will be written at the Palasesto in Sesto San Giovanni. For the first time in Italian hockey history, a Para Ice Hockey player, goalkeeper Gabriele Araudo, athlete of the Italian National Para Ice Hockey team, will play an amateur hockey game together with able-bodied athletes.
The 44-year-old, originally from Nichelino, will face the hosts of the Diavoli Rossoneri with his Torino Bulls team. The match is valid for the second day of the Libertas Serie B Amateur Championship, a young league in its third year of activity. For the Torino Bulls it was the season opener in the league, while the Diavoli won the first match against the Proxai Torino.
A historic first for hockey, which thus breaks down all barriers: in fact, it had never happened that a Para Ice Hockey player, or Sledge Hockey player, who plays on a sledge, could play a ‘standing’ hockey match. A challenge that promises to be exciting for the experienced goalkeeper Araudo, who boasts four Paralympic Games participations with the Dahuazzurri jersey, as the Italian national team is called.
On the other hand, in the Para Ice Hockey Championship, which sees the Tori Seduti of Turin, the Armata Brancaleone of Varese and the South Tyrol Eagles facing each other, the participation of able-bodied athletes is allowed.
