Insieme sul ghiaccio: quando l’hockey si fa inclusivo
Sabato 19 novembre al Palasesto di Sesto San Giovanni, è stata scritta una pagina bellissima per l’hockey amatoriale italiano. Per la prima volta nella storia hockeistica italiana un giocatore di Para Ice Hockey, il portiere Gabriele Araudo, atleta della Nazionale Italiana di Para Ice Hockey, ha disputato una partita amatoriale di hockey insieme ad atleti normodotati, sia donne che uomini. Insieme sul ghiaccio si può davvero stare, ed alla grande.
La sfida, valevole per il campionato amatoriale Libertas Serie B, ha visto contrapporsi i padroni di casa dei Diavoli Rossoneri, ed i Torino Bulls, la squadra in cui militava Gabriele Araudo. La partita è stata vinta per 5 a 1 dai Diavoli, che hanno trovato l’allungo vincente nel secondo periodo. Araudo è stato spesso chiamato in causa dai rossoneri ed ha sempre risposto presente, salvando i suoi in diverse occasioni.
È stata una serata storica, sugellata dalla consueta foto di gruppo tra le due squadre come la tradizione dell’hockey amatoriale vuole. Tutti insieme sul ghiaccio: ragazze e ragazzi, giovani e meno giovani. Tutti che condividono la stessa passione per quello che è uno sport meraviglioso, e che ci ha permesso anche di vivere una giornata indimenticabile. Perché sul ghiaccio, siamo tutti uguali.
Together on ice: when hockey becomes inclusive
On Saturday 19 November at the Palasesto in Sesto San Giovanni, a beautiful page was written for Italian amateur hockey. For the first time in Italian hockey history, a Para Ice Hockey player, goalkeeper Gabriele Araudo, an athlete of the Italian National Para Ice Hockey team, played an amateur hockey game together with able-bodied athletes, both men and women. Together on the ice you can really be, and in a great way.
The challenge, valid for the Libertas Serie B amateur championship, pitted the hosts, the Diavoli Rossoneri, against the Torino Bulls, the team in which Gabriele Araudo played. The match was won 5-1 by the Diavoli, who found the winning stretch in the second period. Araudo was often called upon by the Rossoneri and always responded, saving his team on several occasions.
It was a historic evening, crowned by the customary group photo between the two teams, as amateur hockey tradition demands. All together on the ice: girls and boys, young and old. All sharing the same passion for what is a wonderful sport, and which also allowed us to experience an unforgettable day. Because on the ice, we are all equals.
