L’Italia chiude al quinto posto l’Hockey Women’s Nations Cup
Con la vittoria agli shootout sulla Corea del Sud per 2 a 1 l’Italia chiude al quinto posto l’Hockey Women’s Nations Cup, in programma dal 11 al 17 dicembre all’Estadio Betero di Valencia. Per le azzurre di Robert Justus secondo successo consecutivo, ieri battuto il Sud Africa per 2 a 0, e quarto risultato utile nel torneo. Due i pareggi: uno all’esordio contro la Corea e l’altro nell’ultima partita del girone contro le padrone di casa della Spagna.
La partita si sblocca solo al 33esimo con Federica Carta che realizza su penalty corner e porta avanti le azzurre. Il pareggio della Corea del Sud arriva al 52esimo, con Cho che segna su penalty stroker. Il risultato non cambia e si va ai rigori. Per le azzurre a segno Agueda Moroni e Sofia Laurito, mentre per le coreane solo Lee. L’Italia vince e chiude al quinto posto la sua avventura all’Hockey Women’s Nations Cup.
Italy finish fifth at Hockey Women’s Nations Cup
With the shootout victory over South Korea 2-1, Italy finished fifth at the Hockey Women’s Nations Cup, scheduled from December 11-17 at the Estadio Betero in Valencia. For the Azzurri of Robert Justus, second consecutive success, yesterday beating South Africa 2-0, and fourth result in the tournament. There were two draws: one in the opener against Korea and the other in the last match of the round against hosts Spain.
The match was only unblocked in the 33rd minute when Federica Carta scored from a penalty corner to put the Azzurri ahead. South Korea’s equaliser came in the 52nd minute, with Cho scoring on a penalty stroker. The result did not change and it went to penalties. For the Azzurri, Agueda Moroni and Sofia Laurito scored, while for the Koreans only Lee. Italy won and ended its adventure at the Hockey Women’s Nations Cup in fifth place.
