Alla Wurth Arena di Egna gli Augsburger Panther chiudono al terzo posto la 16esima edizione della Dolomiten Cup superando gli svizzeri dell’EHC Biel per 5-2: decisivo il primo periodo, chiuso sul 4-0. Alle 20 l’ultima, inedita, sfida di questo lungo weekend di Dolomiten Cup: Eisbären Berlino vs Dynamo Pardubice.
I tedeschi piegano 5-2 gli svizzeri dell’EHC Biel e centrano il terzo posto nella manifestazione, congedandosi nel migliore dei modi dal tradizionale torneo estivo in Alto Adige. Una finale per il terzo posto con tante reti, già di fatto decisa dopo venti minuti, coi Panther in vantaggio per 4-0.
Augsburger avanti 4 a 0 nel primo periodo
Augsburg e Biel si affrontano nella finalina della 16esima edizione della Dolomiten Cup: la sfida è il remake della finale della passata edizione 2021. Sul ghiaccio le due squadre cambiano un po’ le carte in tavola. Nelle file del Biel si rivede Damien Brunner, assente in semifinale, in porta spazio al back up Simon Rytz. Augsburg mischia leggermente le linee rispetto a venerdì sera.
Il primo squillo, vincente, è dei Panther, che aprono il tabellino della serata con Pampel, lesto ad insaccare un assist illuminante di Länger dal terzo di difesa. Il gol carica i pluricampioni della Dolomiten Cup, che spingono ancora e iniziano ad esaltarsi. Per i Panthers arrivano altre due reti ravvicinate: Michael Clarke, in due minuti, firma due reti molto simili davanti allo slot di Rytz. Augsburg vola sul 3-0 e dopo meno di dodici minuti sembra avere le idee molto chiare su come concludere il weekend in Alto Adige. Biel è frastornato, Augsburg invece ha ancora energia e realizza pure il poker con Soramies.
Quando si riparte, Biel prova a rimettersi in carreggiata. Augsburg attende l’avversario, chiude i varchi davanti a Endras e quando gode di un powerplay, riesce pure a sfruttarlo con Saponari, il cui diagonale basso finisce in porta, ma dopo la prova video, non viene confermato per un precedente fuorigioco al momento dell’ingresso in zona d’attacco. La gara vive una fase di stallo, con i tedeschi che controllano e non concedono grandi spazi nello slot, mentre Biel non riesce a pungere. Le parate del veterano Simon Rytz, in almeno due occasioni, evitano il 5-0 dei Panther.
Orgoglio Biel
Nel terzo periodo saltano gli schemi, ma le due squadre non lesinano certo energie sul ghiaccio. Biel accorcia le distanze con Mike Künzle, bravo a risolvere una mischia davanti a Endras. Poco dopo Augusburg trova la quinta rete con Wännström, prima della seconda rete svizzera firmata da Olofsson che chiude il tabellino sul 5-2.

At the Wurth Arena in Egna, the Augsburger Panther team ended the 16th edition of the Dolomiten Cup in third place by defeating the Swiss EHC Biel 5-2: the first period was decisive, closed at 4-0. At 8 pm the last, unprecedented challenge of this long Dolomiten Cup weekend: Eisbären Berlin vs Dynamo Pardubice.
The Germans defeated the Swiss EHC Biel 5-2 and took third place in the event, bidding farewell to the traditional summer tournament in South Tyrol in the best possible way. A final for the third place with many goals, already decided after twenty minutes, with the Panther leading 4-0.
Augsburger ahead 4-0 in the first period
Augsburg and Biel face each other in the final of the 16th edition of the Dolomiten Cup: the challenge is a remake of the final of the last edition 2021. On the ice, the two teams change the cards a bit. In Biel’s ranks Damien Brunner, absent in the semifinal, is back, while in goal there is space for the back up Simon Rytz. Augsburg slightly shuffles the lines compared to Friday night.

The goal charged the multiple champions of the Dolomiten Cup, who pushed again and started to exalt themselves. For the Panthers came two more close goals: Michael Clarke, in two minutes, signed two very similar goals in front of Rytz’ slot. Augsburg flies on 3-0 and after less than twelve minutes seems to have very clear ideas on how to end the weekend in South Tyrol. Biel is dazed, Augsburg on the other hand still has energy and even scores the poker with Soramies.
When the restart came, Biel tried to get back on track. Augsburg waits for the adversary, closes the gaps in front of Endras, and when it enjoys a powerplay, it even manages to exploit it with Saponari, whose low diagonal shot ends in the goal, but after the video proof, it is not confirmed due to a previous offside at the moment of entering the attack zone. The match was in a stalemate, with the Germans controlling and not conceding much space in the slot, while Biel failed to sting. Veteran Simon Rytz’s saves on at least two occasions prevented the Panther’s 5-0.
Biel pride
In the third period, the schemes were skipped, but the two teams did not spare any energy on the ice. Biel shortened the distances with Mike Künzle, who was able to solve a scrum in front of Endras. Shortly after Augusburg found the fifth goal with Wännström, before the second Swiss goal signed by Olofsson that closed the scoreboard at 5-2.
